Our Community

The Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady live in community. Believing in the strength of shared community to sustain their mission work, the Sisters live together to support one another in an atmosphere of kindness and goodness. The Holy Spirit infuses the community with joy and hospitality. Each day is an opportunity to share Christ’s love with the other Sisters in the community and, in turn, with the world. By sharing all of their lives together--praying, working, eating, planning, and celebrating--each Sister contributes to the community and supports one another physically, mentally and spiritually.

Our Healthcare Ministry

The Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady sponsors several healthcare ministries in Louisiana. These include hospitals and physician practices, long-term care facilities, outreach clinics, a college and more. Believing in the call to serve those most in need by extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, the Sisters work directly in these organizations as well as provide leadership and governance oversight as members of the Board of Directors. These healthcare organizations are operated under the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System whose corporate offices are located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Prayer

Prayer is central to the life of the community and each Sister. We are praying for you and your spiritual journey and that you may find the answer to God’s special call for you. We welcome your requests for special prayer intentions.

Prayer for Vocations
God our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son’s Kingdom as priests, deacons, religious, and consecrated persons. Send your Holy Spirit to help us respond generously and courageously to your call. May our community of faith sup-port vocations of sacrificial love in our youth. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
